A beautiful 1920s family home which retains its original features including fire places, pine flooring and stripped pine doors, and a kitchen pantry! There are tranquil flower laden gardens front and back, the house is set back from a quiet residential street with friendly neighbours. Upstairs: Three bedrooms furnished to sleep five and family bathroom that includes a bath/ power shower. Downstairs: A spacious sitting room with two generous settees, HiFi, satellite television, one wall is lined with shelves containing books, cds and dvds. The dining room has a table that can seat six people. There is a hatch into a fully equipped kitchen. Outside: There is a good sized back garden (40ft) surrounded by flowers and hanging baskets, garden table, chairs and bench, plus space for a barbecue. There is broadband internet access throughout the house and we will supply towels and linen for your stay. Unfortunately no smokers and no pets allowed. We are offering a bolt hole from the hustle and bustle of the Olympics and the cosmopolitan city that is London, in a tranquil, comfortable, light, airy and colourful home which we ourselves love very much and believe that you will too.
Our house is situated in a quiet part of SE London a couple of minutes walk from a beautiful quiet park, and a stroll to the bottom of the hill (10 mins) to Lewisham which is served by a variety of buses, the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and overland rail network. For Olympic events: Greenwich Park (Equestrian and Pentathlon) via DLR (3 stops) or 1.5 mile walk across Blackheath Common. For Stratford Olympic Site, DLR (30-40 minutes). For 02 Dome (Gymnastics, Trampoline & Basketball), DLR/Jubilee line (25 mins). Out of London events are available from Central London rail stations. Take the DLR for easy access to Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Stratford, London City Airport and the City of London. Take the overland rail that goes every few minutes to London Bridge, Waterloo and Charing Cross giving close access to the Thames River, the London Eye, Tate Modern, The Dome and South Bank centres and Parliament. Central Lewisham has a daily market renowned for well priced fresh produce and has good supermarkets. Blackheath (1.5 miles) has boutique shopping, a good range of restaurants and pubs and a Sunday Farmers Market. Greenwich (1.5 Miles) has the Royal Observatory, the National Maritime Museum, old Royal Navy buildings and a bustling crafts market as well as Restaurants.
