Lovely family house in Charlton, southeast London. 3 bedrooms - sleeps 5 (or 6 with a sofa-bed). Available for rent during Olympics and Paralympics 2012. Located on a quiet residential street in Royal Borough of Greenwich. House rental Weekly price during Olympics - £2,500. Weekly price during Paralympics - £1,500. The house is Victorian (built around 1900) and has period features but has been decorated and furnished in modern style. The house has 4 split levels: - kitchen/diner area at the back, with patio doors leading to outside decking and steps down to the garden. There is a range cooker, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a large fridge/freezer and dining table that seats 8 people. Gas-burning and charcoal-burning barbecues available. - lounge is on the same level as the front door, just off the hall. Sofas and armchair to seat 6 people. We have Virgin media cable TV, Nintendo Wii and wi-fi internet access - upstairs are shower room, bathroom (both with WCs) and double bedroom. - upstairs again are master bedroom (superking-size bed with Tempur mattress, and TV) and large room with single bed (could add sofa-bed here). This is a family home. We try to keep it in good order, but there are signs of wear and tear here and there. More pictures of the rest of the house can be provided if required. Bedding and towels are included.
Greenwich is hosting Olympic equestrian events at Greenwich Park, gymnastics and badminton at the O2 (a.k.a. the dome) and shooting at the Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich. Olympic travel info at a glance: Charlton to Greenwich Park is 2 miles; 10 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus, 5 minutes by train. Charlton to North Greenwich tube station (for the O2) is less than 2 miles; 10 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus. Royal Artillery Barracks is a short walk. Charlton to Stratford (main Olympic site) via North Greenwich is about 30 minutes by bus and underground. Charlton to central London is 15 minutes by train. Charlton is in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, close to Blackheath and Greenwich town. Apart from the Olympics, it is a great base to explore London, with the Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage site close by, as well as pretty Blackheath village which is full of shops, cafes and restaurants. You can also catch direct trains to different areas of central London - the West End, the South Bank and the historic City of London. The house is a ten minute walk to Charlton railway station. There are small shops nearby and supermarkets are a 5-minute car/bus ride away.
