Attractions within walking distance include: Dorney Lake Cliveden House Taplow Court Boulters Lock Maidenhead Bridge and Rowing Club Ray Mill Island Riverside Gardens picnic and play area Taplow Board and Ski and ... ...some of the best Michelin starred restaurants in the world! (Heston Blumenthal's The Fat Duck and the Roux brothers' Waterside Inn in Bray Village as well as others nearby). We are served well by fast trains to London Reading Oxford and the West Country via Maidenhead Station. Local trains and buses run regularly to Windsor Castle Eton Henley Cookham Marlow and other such beautiful towns and villages. LEGOLAND is about a 15 or 20min drive and buses there are easy enough. In fact the local and national bus network from here is excellent all round. (Heathrow buses stop a couple of hundred yards from our front door). Also we are just two miles from the M4 junctions 7 and 8/9 so it's easy to get anywhere from here. Lifts from Heathrow or the railway station may be available for a small fee. Other Amenities: Maidenhead town centre is a ten minute walk away and you can get anything you want there (including cycle hire) but even closer is a newsagent laundry cafe some great restaurants/pubs/ takeaways and a first class supermarket.. The gym pool roller skating and leisure centre are a very short walk from here and there is a big bowling alley and laser quazar place next to that. There are lots of fitness classes and fun things to do there every day as well as special events in the evenings and over the holidays - perfect for rainy days! There's also a Multiplex Cinema in the town centre. On a nice day however the best thing to do right here is to relax by the river with a book and a picnic watching the boats and the ducks go by or to take a stroll along the pretty tow path to ogle the riverside homes of the rich and famous! If you like cycling or longish walks the route along the Thames's tow path to Windsor and then back again along the Jubilee River via Dorney is simply idyllic really beautiful. I highly recommend it! Self-employed happy and glad to be able to welcome new friends to dinner or breakfast... ...or lunch! I've had lodgers here for years on and off but have recently enjoyed hosting foreign students for short visits and would now like to offer a place to adults who are looking for somewhere to stay over the Olympics period or other special events such as the Queen's Jubilee or simply for an enjoyable short break from home. This area's got a great deal to offer and I'd love to share it with you.
